The Many Benefits of Summer School

As the 2017-2018 school year comes to a close, are you pleased with your results? For students around the Puget Sound Region and beyond, enrolling in summer courses is a way to stay on track with their educational goals and to graduate on time. Summer Sessions at Solomon Education Center offers an excellent opportunity to complete missing credit courses, gain insights into mastering the SAT, or increase academic performance with 1 to 1 study programs.

There has been much documentation regarding the “Summer Slide” in which students have the tendency to lose the educational gains they made during the previous year. Summer School is an excellent way to avoid this dilemma by keeping skills sharp and fresh. At Solomon Education Center students are expected to speak English only in the classroom, thereby immersing them in the English language.

Global Citizens

Beyond academics, summer school offers a variety of other benefits. When cultures from around the world unite, a broader understanding of the world around them emerges and the result is more tolerance for our differences as well as an understanding of our similarities. Students learn to interact with diverse people, and discover how we are all connected, which is the first step into the larger world around them.

Social Skills

As many young people take their first steps towards independence, many of them may be leaving their home country for the first time.  Summer School at Solomon Education Center grants students the opportunity to do just that in a supervised, supportive environment that can have long lasting effects. Students learn how to make new friends from all over the world, which helps build confidence and will serve them well as they began to prepare for admissions to new schools or universities.

University Admissions

As competition for admissions to universities continues to intensify on a global scale, Summer School sends a clear message to college administrators that students are dedicated to learning, meeting new people, and having new experiences. This is a great way to stand out from the crowd and provides a depth of personal enrichment that student’s will be able to highlight and draw from when the time comes to apply to a University.

Registration for Solomon Education Center’s summer session is now open, and will remain open until courses begin. For more information please visit our homepage at or call (425)-395-8000 today!
